cIP  evokes reproducible, outwardly propagating endothelial Ca   waves

En face mesenteric artery preparation stained with Cal-520/AM (5 µM, grey) and cIP  (5 μM). Ca activity was stimulated by localized photolysis of cIP  (yellow circle) after a baseline recording (10 Hz; baseline cut short for the purpose of video). The resulting Ca   activity is visualized in green (repeat 1) and purple (repeat 2, taken 15 mins after repeat 1 in the same preparation). Signal intensity profiles taken across the preparation horizontally and vertically through the centre of the FoV are shown, along with the surface plot for the recording (Jet LUT). Scale bar: 50 μm.
