Dr Calum Wilson MEng, EngD
Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Half engineer, half physiologist, half historian of the Byzantine empire, Calum is a Sir Henry Wellcome Research Fellow that never was any good at maths. Calum is interested in understanding how blood vessel function is regulated by mechanicial forces. To help him do so he builds specialised microscopes and experimental apparatus, and writes custom analysis software. If he doesn't know how something works, he will disassemble it. Most of the time he will manage to put things back together properly. Calum's work has received several accolades. Notably, he is a two-time recipient of the Journal of Physiology Early Investigator Prize. More recently, Calum was invited to join the Editorial Board of the Journal of Physiology as a Editorial Fellow.
